Internal lime plastering

Traditional Lime Plastering Thatched Cottage, Shimpling We were delighted to complete the internal lime plastering on this beautiful period thatched cottage in the picturesque village of Shimpling. Working in close partnership with the main builder, who carried out all the preparatory work and installed the new lathing, our team applied three full coats of traditional lime plaster directly over the lath. We also carefully hand-shaped and formed the fireplace opening to create a clean, elegant, and characterful focal point for the room. This breathable, sympathetic finish is perfectly suited to historic properties like this one, preserving the building’s original fabric while delivering a smooth, high quality surface that will last for generations.
